A STEP-BY-STEP APPROACH TO FIXING THE LEGAL IMMIGRATION SYSTEM

In late fall 2011, ImmigrationWorks mounted a communications campaign to draw attention to a new trend emerging in Congress – small, incremental steps to fix the legal immigration system. After five years of partisan sniping and stalemate on comprehensive reform, lawmakers are trying something different: not all or nothing, but a step-by-step approach – a bumper crop of incremental visa reform bills, often spearheaded by Republican lawmakers.
